No matter how much free time you have this summer, challenge yourself to read at least one biography.
The Bible is full of stories about violent acts done in God’s name, but Jesus presents an alternative during His stay on earth: acting as a healer rather than a warrior.
These bodies are not our own; they are properties that we are stewards of until we are taken up into heaven where they will be perfected and glorified.
Hating yourself is not a pretty thing. It’s certainly not what we were created for. But you can accomplish more than you ever knew was possible.
As I talk to my friends, similar themes keep surfacing: loneliness, anxiety, sadness, displacement. One thing I’ve particularly missed is my “rhythms.”
Give yourself grace. I don’t think many of us would say these weeks haven’t been difficult. But now is the time to make self-care a priority.
Recognizing anxiety for what it is can be valuable in learning how to deal with it.
