I’ve been swapping out drugstore makeup for organic and natural products. I was totally buying into this eco-friendly, all-natural fad. I was feeling empowered and enlightened and a bit self-righteous, until I noticed that all my organic products, including my soap, are wrapped in plastic. My priorities feel a bit off.

I’ve lived in Kansas most of my life. Yes, to most of the world, my home state is one you typically drive through and fly over. I remember kind of despising my hometown of Wichita growing up. But now I have a large sense of pride for my home state.

What if we lived in a country where attacks on churches were common and even encouraged? Or a nation that gave its approval to church violence?

If a kooky mom from Indiana can save Will Byers from Demogorgons, surely we can at least make a dent in the issues hitting our headlines today.
